TECAR Therapy (Capacitive and Resistive Energy Transfer)

TECAR Therapy Diathermy, better known as TECAR therapy (an acronym for Capacitive and Resistive Energy Transfer), is a therapeutic technique that uses an electric current with frequencies in the MF (Medium Frequency) radio band. It transfers energy deep into the tissues of the human body, triggering a biostimulating effect. This therapy is carried out in a medical practice, usually by a physiotherapist, on patients with a variety of pathologies requiring rehabilitation, sports treatment, and aesthetic treatment.
TECAR therapy is an innovative form of physical therapy that uses radiofrequency energy to stimulate tissue repair, reduce pain, and improve range of motion. This therapy leverages electromagnetic waves to generate heat within body tissues, promoting natural healing processes. TECAR therapy can be administered in two modes: Capacitive and Resistive. The Capacitive mode targets soft tissues such as muscles, while the Resistive mode focuses on deeper tissues such as bones and tendons.

What do we treat?

We focus exclusively on the foot and ankle, evaluating factors that influence performance and injury risk:

  • Gait & movement analysis – examining how your feet, ankles, and lower limbs move during walking, running, and sports activities.
Foot structure & alignment – identifying high arches, flat feet, or other structural variations affecting load distribution.
Joint mobility & range of motion – assessing flexibility and stiffness in the ankle, subtalar, and midfoot joints.
Muscle strength & activation patterns – detecting weaknesses or imbalances in the calf, foot intrinsic muscles, and supporting structures.
Load & pressure distribution – using pressure mapping to pinpoint areas of overload that may lead to pain or injury.
Our biomechanical approach ensures that rehabilitation is not only focused on symptoms but also addresses the root causes, giving athletes, runners, and active individuals a clear path back to safe and efficient movement.
